TICKY-TACKY

The smug
bird crowing
hard and proud-
ly
from
inside the grubby
nest he made

on top
of the roof
of the snug
coach house
that I'm
afraid—
to put a nail in

has made
me pin
the
following down—

a poet who's
unknowing—
is always

more at-home
than one

who's just—unknown.
